Comedians with Disabilities Collaboration with Max Higbee Center

The nationally acclaimed Comedians with Disabilities Act (CWDA), in partnership with Max Higbee Center, brings its one‑of‑a‑kind comedy showcase to Bellingham, Washington in conjunction with Disability Pride Weekend events. Tickets are by donation (at the door or via links provided below).

Founded in Northern California in 2010, the Comedians with Disabilities Act (CWDA) was created to amplify comedic voices that had long been marginalized. Over the last 15 years, CWDA has performed for thousands of audiences of all abilities at colleges, comedy clubs, corporate events, festivals, and everywhere laughter is welcome. Currently, the troupe is working on their first comedy-docu special, Comedians with Disabilities Act: Going Beyond The Punchlines, which will have a work-in-progress screening on July 24 as a warm-up to the comedy showcase later that night. Also on the Friday Night standup bill is Brad Klein, the CODA Comedian. For more information, go to www.ComediansWithDisabilitiesAct.com.

Max Higbee Center is a grassroots organization founded by educators and families of people with developmental disabilities who wanted quality recreation opportunities in Whatcom County. Max Higbee Center supports and empowers teens and adults with developmental disabilities to build community, friendships, happiness, life skills and health through recreation.
