Strategic Planning for the Future

In early 2024, WCEL partnered with Kindred Consulting to create a high-level strategic plan that will guide our work for the next five years.

This collaborative process included:

• Focus groups with every WCEL team

• Multiple planning sessions with our leadership team

• A strategic planning workshop with our Board of Directors

• Surveys of every staff and board member

• Review of community, client, and staff data

Kindred analyzed all of the survey responses and meeting insights, identifying key themes and patterns. Staff and board members then worked together to refine the draft goals and objectives.

From start to finish, the process was grounded in the belief that the people “closest to the work” have the deepest understanding of our challenges and opportunities. At WCEL, our staff and board leaders were committed to a planning process that was not only inclusive—but led by the voices of our staff across the organization.
