Nutrition and Feeding Therapy

Every child needs to eat—but for some, eating isn’t easy.

If your child struggles with eating a variety of foods, textures, or flavors, they may benefit from WCEL’s specialized feeding therapy program. We’re here to help children who find eating by mouth difficult or stressful.

What Is Feeding Therapy?

Feeding therapy helps children who have trouble eating due to sensory, motor, behavioral, or medical challenges. At WCEL, we take a whole-child approach, looking at all the factors that affect feeding, including:

  • Sensory sensitivities

  • Oral motor skills

  • Eating habits and routines

  • Growth and nutrition

  • Developmental milestones

  • Behavior and learning

  • Emotional and social factors

Our team works together across disciplines to understand your child’s needs and create a personalized plan to support their progress.

How we help:

We begin with a thorough evaluation that includes:

  • Observing your child during meals

  • Talking with you about your child’s eating habits

  • Assessing physical and developmental skills

From there, we design a therapy plan that fits your child and family. Therapy may include play-based activities, parent coaching, and strategies to make mealtimes more successful and less stressful.

You’re Not Alone.

Feeding challenges can be tough—for both children and parents. Our team is here to support you with compassion, expertise, and practical tools to help your child grow and thrive.
