Executive & Grant Assistant

Position Summary:

This position is a full-time Executive & Grant Assistant role that reports to and supports the Executive Director. This position also supports the Director of Culture and People Engagement at WCEL. 

Pay Range: $22-$28/hour

Schedule: Full-time

Location: Hybrid position that works primarily from the Cordata location (400 Sequoia Drive, Bellingham, WA 98225).

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Supports the Executive Director in building of new resources, system, and tools

  • Maintain various records and documents for the Executive Director

  • Scheduling support for the Executive Director and the Director of Culture & People Engagement

  • Drafting, reviewing, and sending communications on behalf of the Executive Director

  • Complete accurate notetaking for committees and meetings for both staff and board

  • Supports the Director of Culture and People Engagement with filing, hiring and onboarding

  • Assists with grant writing and reporting

  • Supports WCEL tabling at events and WCEL events as needed; and 

  • Works on special projects as assigned

  • High level of confidence and adaptability with technology; 

  • Ability to travel occasionally and work some evening and weekend events; 

  • High degree of confidentiality; 

  • This position requires frequent use of computers and exposure; frequent oral, written and auditory communication with others; working in an open office environment with frequent interruptions and distractions; and working with individuals from diverse backgrounds; 

  • Works well under pressure to manage stressful situations; 

  • Flexible to meet scheduling needs and handle often unpredictable changes; 

  • Organized, and detail-oriented 

Education and knowledge:

  • Fluent in English  

  • High school diploma or GED 

  • At least 2 years' experience as an Executive Assistant or similar administrative role 

  • Equivalent education/experience will substitute for listed qualifications 

  • Knowledge of the disability sector is preferred 

  • Grant writing knowledge and experience is preferred, but not required

  • Vehicle in working condition, driver’s license, and auto liability insurance 

  • Consent to background check and fingerprinting
